This by far was the calmest 4th of July we have ever had here at the Spillman home. Usually we have a few people, and the pool is going and the BBQ is fired up, and the drinks are plenty. Not this year......this year it was 50ish and raining. It was one of the worst 4th of July's to date. It rained on us the ENTIRE day. We would get some glimmer of hope and then, it would pour. The dad's managed to get a couple good ones, but that was about it. A lot of the shows in and around Denver canceled due to the rain. So they boys got to play with some sparklers and see a couple fireworks. We were all in bed by 11:00.
Hopefully next year is better!!

1st time ever....

Eric worked over night at one of his clients last night, so i knew he would want to rest today. So i took the boys to see Toy Story 3. It was their 1st movie in a movie theatre and they LOVED it!! It was a little long for little guys (1 hr 49mins) but they did pretty good. About 1/2 way through Rohan wanted to get up and move around, he also wanted to talk. Aragorn made it to about 10 mins before it was over before he even started to squirm. Unfortunatly we got held up and didn't have very good seats (to far in front) but the boys still had a great time. And we got there before 2:00, so it was only $10 for us to get in :-) I liked that part! This is the only picture i got, because it was SO hot outside we wanted to get into some A/C.

A shark and a Train

I took the boys to Barnes and Noble on Tuesday for their free story time. We listened to a couple, one was a ballerina story (that the boys had no interest in) and the other was Shark vs. Train by Chris Barton this one they liked. They both answered when the reader asked questions of the kids, Rohan even at one point went and sat next to her so he could get a closer look. After the story, they gave the kids a picture of a ballerina or shark to color. We had a very good time and will definitely be visiting again.

Pool time fun....

It is so nice having a pool in our backyard!! The boys and i have been in it everyday for the last 2 weeks. It's a nice break at around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. Theta's when the sun is the hottest and the water is still cold, so it cools us all right down.
