Lost another one......

Aragorn lost his 2nd tooth yesterday 01-25-11. It's the one next to the one he lost last week. The story for this one is equally funny.

"Um momma may i talk to you"

"Honey I'm on the phone"

"Ok but............look" He pulls out his lip, and shows me his teeth.

I look for a moment, and realize he's lost another tooth

"That one fell out too?" i ask a little worried

"Yeah it was poking me in the mouth last night and i took it out and put it out on my table so i could give it to you to put it in your hand then i forgot and now i can't find it"

"Ok, it's on the table in your room?" i ask gently

"Uh-huh"

I smile and scruff his hair......looking in his mouth i smile. He's gonna break the tooth fairy at this rate.

The Cat......

I do an e-mail everyday that i call the "Daily Funnies" i send them to a few friends that then forward them on, they are just an e-mail of pictures of cats or dogs or people, whatever i like on a website i found. They make me smile, and i think everyone needs to start the day with a smile.

I saw this picture, and I had to stop a moment. I have grown up with the picture, it has been in every house I have ever lived in. My mom puts it over the stove. She told me today she brought it over from Germany. She was a little fuzzy on the year, but it was either ’73 when she came to the states to marry my dad, or ’76 when she came back from Berlin while he was in Korea.

This picture makes me smile, just because I have literally grown up with it.

Something's Missing.........

At 1st I didn't even know what happened, he came whizzing by me to the garbage can

"What's that?" i asked curious, he didn't have anything that needed to be thrown away

"Oh just my tooth" he says shrugging

"Wait your.....wait your tooth? did your tooth come out?" i stammered a little bit in my mind thinking WAIT!! He's to little!!

"Uh-huh, but i threw it away" he starts to walk back to his spot on the couch
I finally snapped back into reality

"Oh My GOSH, honey no, we have to keep it” and then I explained all about the tooth fairy and we called dad to tell him the big news.

So yeah, I got to dig through lo mien noodles looking for the child’s tooth THAT was fun!

Attention span....or not

A blood curdling scream from the livingroom, followed by whines of agony and despair and an

"I’m telling”

Rohan appears at my side fake crying I say lovingly, as only a mother can

“What happened my love?”

And he replies

“Aragorn just………..hey what’s that” looking at something on my desk

Happy Birthday Rohan...round 3

Rohan will think his birthday lasts a month if we keep going at this rate. Because we took him to Casa Bonita, we decided against a big party for him. We'll be doing a birthday breakfast for him and a couple of his friends. Which means, the grandparents each got to have some special time with Rohan, and give him any gifts they had gotten him. Gdean was here last weekend, and gave him a cool new car for his batman series, and some play dough, both of which has been played with DAILY since. (i didn't get any pictures, because she was here, so she got to see him open them) and because, well, i forgot :-(

Yesterday the boys and i Met Grandad Spillman & Eric at Chik-Fil-A for lunch. Grandad treated us to a combined birthday lunch, and gave Rohan his gifts. We did not open them in Chik-fil-a because i was worried about him losing pieces, so he didn't get to see how excited rohan was. He got some stickers (which Rohan LOVES) and some fruit snacks, but the best parts were the Joker house and the riddler missile launcher. Rohan and Aragorn played for the rest of the afternoon with the batman collection Rohan has gotten. It was AWESOME!!

Today is Eric's birthday!!! Instead of buying him a card (which i just put in my hope chest anyway) i had Bria take this pic of me and the boys today, i edited it and it was his card. YEAH for saving paper!!

The marshmallow gun......

The boys can't work the marshmallow gun they got from Grandad Spillman, so the other night Eric helped them out.......As you can see, it's a hit..........no pun intended

Rohan picked them up and ate them as fast as he could...causing dad to loose ammunition ;-) Works for me, less i have to vacuum :-)

Ahhhhhh.........

Organization.....Who doesn't love it? I FINALLY got around to getting my craft stuff all organized and in the same place. I have acquired a lot of stuff these last couple of years. I can now do wreaths, shadow boxes, blankets, cards, scrap booking, stamping, tutu's and i think i might be leaving a couple out. But all this stuff needs a home. So Eric, moved one of the printer we had sitting out, and gave me space for my crafts (isn't he awesome?) Check it out.....

And these are just coffee cans i coverd with paper and a ribbon for catch all's

"He's in here lil man" and i point to his heart through his shirt (which also happens to have a pocket on it)

"But momma, how is Jesus gonna fit in there" he asks as he looks in his pocket.....

In all of this.....

I have forgotten to wish you all a happy new year. I know the Spillman home is happy to enter the New Year with optimism and hope. 2010 was choppy for us, we had some good, some very good, some bad and some worse, but for each of these i think, we have been made better people.

Did you make any resolutions? I have 8 total. Some are easy (if i just stick to them) others, a little harder, but i am determined to keep them this year.

As we all venture around the sun again, we hope 2011 brings you everything you need and maybe even a couple of things you want.

Happy birthday buddy......

This is Rohan's birthday Cinnamon bun. We did his at breakfast because i wasn't sure what we were doing for dinner, but i was pretty sure it wouldn't have cake. So this way he got to make a wish on his actual birthday.

Rohan turns 3......

New years day has taken on a whole new meaning for us since 2008. Rohan joined us 01-01-08 at 1:46 pm. He has been our light ever since. This morning we celebrated his day with a birthday cinnamon bun complete with candles to blow out. He got a couple small gifts from us. And G-dean came over with some new cool dinosaur fridge magnets (we used to have a bunch, but Tabby chewed them all) so this gift was perfect for the boys. As T-Bria and I enjoyed some coffee, the topic of Casa Bonits came up, she has been BEGGING to take them, and i have been against it, remembering it to be bad food, and a bad experience, but she was able to convince me, and we decided we would take Rohan for his 3rd birthday.

NOW........for anyone that lives in or has ever lived in Colorado, you know this place. It's been around forever!! (since 1974 as a matter of fact) so most people that live here have been there, and pretty much any one that visits wants to go there. Casa Bonita is every bit as you remember, only smaller. As a child, it all seems so amazing, the cliff divers, the shoot out, black bart's cave, the winding crazy never know where you'll come out caves. The magic is still there, don't get me wrong. From the familiar smell, to the fact they haven't changed anything in the last 14 years, the magic of a memory comes back to you. We took the boys tonight, and even in the chaos that is that restaurant, i had a great time watching the boys, they had fun, and enjoyed the action. The food was actually good, which we were worried about (Casa Bonita is NOT known for the food). The decor is still the same, the acts are still the same. It was fun to see the boys see something as i did as a child. Everything around us is so quick to move on to the bigger better things, it was nice to see they have stayed the same. It was a great day and evening out.

So Happy Birthday Baby bug. I hope we helped make some memories tonight that you can share with your kids. We love you with all our hearts.
