Pink Ribbons.....

As i stated in a previous post. My sister Nikki has been diagnosed with breast cancer. It is my understanding that the cancer has spread to the bones in her back, so now she must also battle bone cancer. She was supposed to have total lymphoid removal, unfortunately that never happened as she developed a staph infection and had to be rushed back to the hospital. She is back at home now. I understand they did a bone biopsy on her back, and we hope the cancer hasn't spread. Breast cancer is curable, bone cancer is not. They should have results in a week. I ask you to keep sending prayers up. She needs all you can give her.

Happy 2010

Wow so much has happened this year it seems impossible to keep up. We begin a new decade tonight. I look back and see how much things have changed this year. The kids i knew when i was just a kid myself will graduate this year making them 17 & 18. Aragorn celebrated his 4th birthday this year, and Rohan will be 2 tomorrow.

So much to look back on.....1st trips to the zoo, meeting up with my dancing teacher and her daughter for lunch (it's been a year again), Pink eye high fevers, blizzards in April, Easter clubhouses, The loss of dear friends (RIP Bill & Mr. Miles) perfect fathers day, fun camping, tornado's in June, 1st Bar Mitvah, 1st time at the reservoir, getting Aragorn 100% potty trained, saying goodbye to pets that completed our lives, joining the Edge church and allowing god into our lives, new tattoos, living dinosaurs, new grills, and car accidents, 5 year anniversary celebrations, long lost friends found again, museum trips, more zoo trips, fencing try outs, cancer showing it's ugly head once again in our family, getting laid off, gingerbread houses, indoor fireplace, Christmas eve party's, new jobs.......and Squeals of happiness!!!

Really, 2009 wasn't that bad, but i say SO LONG 2009.......Bring it on 2010!!

Memories........

Growing up, some of my best Christmas memories were spent with my godparents. They always had a get together on Christmas eve, lots of friends, the fireplace (not to mention coffee with Baily's). It takes a village to raise a child is what Becky always says, they made up a lot of my village and i was that child. They are my family. And I wanted Aragorn, Rohan and Eric to experience those same memories. And thanks to my mom, we were able to do just that!! We arrived on Tuesday and stayed till Sunday. The days were filled with eating, laughing and marble playing. Aragorn beat Becky twice by himself and once with Eric. The boys got to go to Chucky Cheese for the 1st time ever, they had a wonderful time playing all the games. Christmas eve was spent filling our tummies with yummy food and chatting with Becky and Strut's neighbors. Santa came and left all kinds of gifts for the boys. Christmas morning was oh so much fun. Aragorn spent the day playing his new leapfrog learning game and dinosaur, and Rohan got all kinds of new cars he was very excited. We had such a wonderful time, none of us wanted to leave, but all good things must come to and end. Enjoy the pictures!!

Cookies for Rohan

The boys go to bed fairly early, usually around 7:00, and that's because they don't take naps, or they take very short naps during the day. Anyway, Aragorn gets to stay up and watch a movie before going to sleep, we consider this his "me" time, he gets to be parent and brother free and enjoy a movie of his choosing. As an added bonus, he usually gets cheese puffs or popcorn and a cookie for snack. Eric had been noticing that if he gave him only one cookie, he would only eat half, but if he gave him two, he ate a whole one, but left the other. We discovered the reason why a couple days ago. Aragorn actually saves a cookie for Rohan. We see Rohan come into our room mucnhing on a cookie, and ask where he got it, Aragorn proudly says "I gave him my cookie" And although i am not ENTIRELY thrilled with the idea of M & M cookies at 7am, the thought behind it makes my heart melt.

Getting SO big!!

We took Aragorn for his 4 yerar check up today and he is getting SO big. He weighs 39.8 lbs. and is 41 inches tall. He had his hearing and sight checked, and passed both!! I was a little nervous about that hearing test just because mine is so bad. All in all he is doing very well, the doctor had nothing to add to what we are doing with him. He did have to get 4 shots today. He was a trooper though, he did cry a little but he was good. To ease the pain we took him to Mc Donald's for chicken nuggets, french fries, a chocolate shake and ice cream ( i mean really a chocolate shake and ice cream, how can that not ease the pain) i got a picture of him sporting his cool "tattoos"

We hope you are all well

Better Together

Sunday's sermon was a good one for sure. All about friends and who we should hold onto and who we should let go. Sometimes the best thing for you, is the one that hurts the most.

A friend is ALWAYS loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need-Proverbs 17:17

Friends come, and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family- Proverbs 18:24

Don't forget to visit the Edge Church at www.edgecommunity.net We would love to have you come and worship with us any Sunday!!

Aragorns B-day

Oh my it was insanity and CHAOS!! But oh so much fun. Aragorn was spoiled as always this year with games and clothes and colors OH MY......So much fun to be had. The veggie tales theme was popular with all the kids and the cake was loved by everyone. Aragorn got clothes, and games (candyland 3d, connect 4, and a bug one) movies (Aliens vrs. monsters, UP, Ice Age dawn of the dinos and some veggie tale ones) lots of clothes. A cool guitar and a neato tooth brush. A couple car sets and a VERY cool space ship (Lord Vador's i beleive) not to mention the cool coloring things he got. All in all i think we had a great day. The lunch went like crazy but i mean, who doesn't love hotdogs, corndogs, potatoe salad, noodle salad, tator tots and cheese puffs? Every 4 yr old's DREAM!!

We hope you are all well.
Cheers,

Sun fuzzies

We woke up this morning to lovely sunlight coming through our bedroom window. The boys decided to catch what Eric called "Sunfuzzies" which was really the lint coming off the laundry i was putting away. But it was still fun to watch them try and catch them..........

Dear Aragorn,

Tomorrow will be your 4th birthday. And the 4th anniversary of the day our lives changed forever.....
You are everything to us. And our lives have been more fun because you are in it, and for that we are grateful everyday. I credit you with keeping us young, and smart, and on our toes. Everyday is a new adventure with you. You have taught us all so much, and showed us that being young is always fun. Your innocent look at life and people, restores our faith daily. Your ability to learn new things and comprehend them amazes us. We love you so very much, and look forward to many many more birthdays with you. Happy birthday BOOGS!!
