Speak up & Be heard.......
I am a HUGE food network fan. I LOVE it, i will watch it even when i can't actually watch, i use it for background noise. I have learned a lot from different shows, by different chef's/cooks. On of my favorite chef's to watch was Ina Garten her show is called "The Barefoot Contessa". I never made anything off her show that i actually liked, BUT i liked her show, i liked how she seemed real, and yes, snotty, but she gave no excuse for it. She had worked her way up from the bottom, married young (and is still married) and i just liked her. That all changed last week when i came across this article. http://www.tmz.com/2011/03/24/ina-garten-barefoot-contessa-make-wish-child-cancer-leukemia-cooking-chef/ This article states that Ina Garten informed the make a wish foundation, that she was too busy to cook a meal with a boy that had requested to cook with her. He had asked her last year, and she turned him down. He accepted that, and asked again this year, but her team responded with a "definite no" ... once again, citing scheduling conflicts. This little boy had watched her with his mom while he received treatment for Leukemia. In my mind, this was UNACCEPTABLE. 1 time is to many, but twice back to back, is beyond comprehension. How could this women, someone that i had made special effort to watch, and loved be so cruel???? So i did what i do best, i took to posting. I posted to my Facebook page, and twitter, i sent her an e-mail, and i sent food network an e-mail basically telling them all, that she is a horrible person and should be boycotted. I didn't use foul language, or call her names, i simply stated a fact based on what has been communicated. I was AMAZED at the responses I have received. So far on every outlet i have posted i have gotten nothing but support and agreeing with me. Today i received 2 e-mails from complete strangers telling me that i am great for speaking out. And i just found out that the website POPEater posted my comment. You can check it out here. http://www.popeater.com/2011/03/31/ina-garten-make-a-wish/ Sometimes, when people do wrong, the pen is mightier than the sword. Ina, i hope you read everything that has been said. And i hope the next time someone asks you to do something, ANYTHING, you jump at the chance. Never forget that it's the "little people" that make what you do happen.

Glee ( Darren Criss ) Hey Soul Sister Preview
I love this video for what it brings back for me. If you watch the video at the 1:11 mark you'll see the girl in the audience tell her friend on stage to smile. This was always the biggest issue for me as a performer. Whether i was on stage performing, or modeling in front of the camera, my mom was constantly telling me to smile. It's not that i didn't want to smile.....I forgot how. You get so caught up in what your doing, trying to remember the next step, or the next line, you forget. When i saw this it made me miss being on stage. And having her in the audience. I hope the boys take on some sort of activity that requires them to be on stage, at least once, i want to be in the audience telling them to smile :-)

The big pull.........
Well i did it, i finally had 2 of my 4 wisdom teeth pulled on Friday, and let me tell you what, OUCH!!
They only did the 2 on my left side, i would have liked to have had all 4 done, but i guess they don't do that unless needed, so i had to settle for the 2. I was in a lot of pain Friday night, and into Saturday, but i followed the rules to a T (no smoking, no drinking through a straw, no solid foods) until, well, today actually. I wanted to avoid at ALL costs dry socket, because as i understand it, there is no worse pain. I did have some swelling in my face, but nothing major, in fact most people at church couldn't even tell until i said something. I am not looking forward to getting the other 2 pulled, but i know it has to happen. I do have to say though, this journey of getting my teeth all healthy again has been an eye opener for me. I will from now on take MUCH better care of my teeth, and i will make sure the boys (all of them) do too.
I did get a warm fuzzy though when the dentist told me she liked my smile, she said it was very pretty :-)

Little sister gets married.
My sister Dominique got married this weekend at the Denver Ritz-Carlton. Unfortunatly, do to the ongoing issues with the Dean family, we were unable to attend. But the wedding was covered by multiple news outlets, so even though we weren’t able to attend, I am still able to enjoy some pictures and see that she made an amazing and beautiful bride.

The wedding was made possible by the non-profit group Wish Upon a Wedding. It is the world’s first nonprofit wish granting organization providing weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances regardless of sexual orientation. I am glad they were able to give her the wedding she has always dreamed of. I love the colors, and all of the elements of this wedding, Nikki did a great job picking everything out.

Please check out the links below for information regarding Wish Upon a wedding, and some wonderful coverage of Nikki & Myles.

Enough to fill my heart.......
And break it at the same time. This picture makes me see Aragorn as the young lil man he is. And i can't wait to see him as he gets older. But at the same time, it shows me that even though he'll always be MY baby, he's not a baby anymore. (Can i also say i find it fascinating that his smile tilts to one side, just like mine)

NYC.....

Thursday we landed at 6:30 am, met my cousin Jane at the German house, we had a little breakfast and then Bria and I laid down for a nap. Becky got in at around 12, we went for a walk to Times Square, it was AMAZING, all the billboards and craziness, you can PAY to sit a watch the ads!! We went to the hard rock cafĂ©, and then back to Jane’s for diner, she made a great rice and chicken dish. Friday we went to Tom’s Restaurant, which for you non-Seinfeld fans means nothing, but for those of us that have seen and love the show, this was a GREAT experience. The REAL tom’s is nothing like what they show on the TV show, the inside is shot in Hollywood, which I knew, but didn’t expect it to be so small, it was a cozy little place inside, we had a great breakfast and got some pictures of ME in front of the Tom’s Sign, after that we went to the museum, we had woken up to rain, and by the time we finished breakfast it was pouring again, so we headed to the museum, as it was the only indoor activity we had. We saw all the cool kids from the Ben Stiller movie “Night at the Museum” Rexxy, Dumb Dumb, the whale. After that we caught a cab and walked 5th Ave we saw all the cool shops, Tiffany’s, Prada, Cartier, and it was every bit as cool as it is in the movies..We stopped in Trump tower, and then decided to get some real NYC pizza, which was AWESOME. Friday night Becky treated us to a birthday dinner for mom to a place called Patsy’s which is pretty famous, lots of famous people go there, Sinatra used to go a lot, it was GREAT the food was excellent, I had the best fettuccini alfredo I have ever had, the Chief (which is the guy over the waiters) was very nice, he saw I wanted a piece of chocolate cake they had, but I didn’t order it, so he cut a slice down for me (that was my issue it was way to big) and gave it to me
Saturday morning we went on a 3 hour tour around the island. We saw all the important stuff, without having to actually go to it which was nice. Then we met Jane and her friend in little Italy (which these days is only 1 street) but it was still very cool. We then went to Chinatown, which was CRAZY SO many people, packed into these little streets, along with all the stuff they are selling (which on 1 street included L I V E flopping fish and a trash can FULL of frogs) we then tried to go to an authentic Chinese place, but it was like being shoved into a phone booth, so we went back to little Italy where I had the WORST fettuccini alfredo I have ever had. But I should mention by this point I was really feeling the cold Rohan gave me before I left. I was running a fever and coughing so bad I have a kink in my neck from it. Not a very good night. So instead of going out for 1 more night like we planned, we stayed at Jane’s and had some drinks and just talked. Sunday Becky left at 8am, so mom Bria Jane and I took a walk to central park, we took a horse and cab ride through the park, which was again a nice way to see it without all the walking. And then we had lunch, and I had to go home. I was so sick by Sunday I slept from 2-5, not the best ways to spent my last few hours in NYC. Bria, Mom and Jane went to Grand Central Station and I guess it was very cool Our flight home was a nightmare to say the least. When we boarded our flight to come home, there was something wrong with the captains oxygen mask, so they kept us on the plane for 2 hours, to only transfer us to a different plane, we got home at 4 am. I stayed up cause the boys get up at 6:30ish usually, no point in going to sleep for 2 hours. But I managed and I am SO happy to be home. Vacations are nice, but there truly is NO place like home. The NOISE in that city is amazing, constant horns honking, I was so happy to come home and hear silence, I also missed my mountains it was so weird to see nothing but buildings while we were there.
Do the insane amount of photos i took in NYC.....Please check out this page to see them all. You don't have to have a facebook page to see them, just copy and paste the link, i used a facebook page because it was easier than loading all the photos onto here.
