Questions.......

Just some examples of the questions we have had this week.............

"What is a Menorah?"

"Who is Kara?"

"Who are the Jews?"

"Why do people" (in his bible stories) "ride horses instead of cars?"

"What's a goblin?"

Most of these questions Eric gets asked while he reads Aragorn's bible stories to him at night, or while he plays his online game. So they tend to be a little off the wall. I am loving how he is more engaged in his surroundings and wants to know about them, i love that it shows he pays attention to us when we talk. I am liking the answer "because" just doesn't work for him anymore.

Becky and Strut.....

Came out this weekend for a graduation and stayed with us while they were here. They brought Kali Jo their big fur baby and the boys thought that was super cool, Tabbitha was not impressed. We were able to spend a pretty good chunk of time with them, which was awesome. We always enjoy having them visit, always takes me back to when i was a kid hanging out with my mom and Becky and Strut playing games and laughing. I love the fact the boys get to have all of these wonderful people in their life.

We had a great Sunday, even though i wasn't feeling well this morning and the boys and i had to miss church, it turned out to be a pretty fun day. We played outside in the wonderful sun we got today, the boys played in the mud, and the water. When that got to cold, we showered and they went out front to play on bikes. When we came in the boys and Eric enjoyed a movie while i made dinner and got us ready for tomorrow. Then the guys had some fun playing candy land. I believe it ended 2-Eric
2-Aragorn.

Baby Sitting......

My friend Tiffany asked me to babysit for her last night, so her and her husband John could go have an evening out. I was glad to do it, i was excited to have a girl in the house. Lili is a great little girl and a happy one!! Aragorn and Rohan were excited to babysit too. They brought her a whole pile of toys to play with, they willingly let me change the show they were watching to something she would enjoy too. They were very helpful in keeping her occupied. I have to admit it's been a while since i had an 8 month old, I forget how much the keep you on your toes. Lili loved Aragorn, she keot crawling to him and laughing, he thought it was pretty cute too. I think we all had a great time, and we'll be happy to watch her anytime Tiffany and John need us. Eric had a lot of responsibility Sunday with church so he did some prep work Saturday night, he checked the slides and made sure it was all correct. The boys got a kick out of making shadow puppets.

We like to food it food it......

After being inside from Tuesday to Thursday, i decided Friday would be a great day to go to monkey bizzness. And i had a couple errands to run, so it would have worked out nicely. However, on Friday when i got into the car, after i buckled the boys in, and we were ready to go. I put the key into the ignition and......Nothing, no lights, no sounds.......nothing. Apparently Monday after our trip to Sam's club, while Rohan was playing in my car, he turned on 3 of my lights. I didn't notice, and we haven't left in 3 days, so.......I had to VERY unhappy kiddos, as we couldn't go to the surprise i told them about. But, Eric and i made it up to them yesterday. We took them to Cherry Creek mall for some food play. And they LOVED it. We haven't been in a year, so it was almost new to them. They were also in the mood to pose, so i got some great pictures. We are all getting a little more used to me staying home. The boys and I have gotten a routine, of sorts and we are all liking it. I am very happy that the weather warmed up a little, I'm looking forward to being outside a lot more with the boys.

1st time bowling......

We took the boys bowling for the 1st time yesterday. And once we got over the meltdown of having to take turns (this is still a learning process for Rohan) we had a great time. Aragorn thought it was very cool to play bowling in real life, he has only ever seen it on TV. We plan to go again over the next few weeks, take advantage of the 2 free games a day they have right now for kids.

Gone, but far from forgotten......

We love you and miss you more and more each day. And today is no exception. Happy mother's day to two very awesome women, gone from our lives to soon, but never for a moment in our hearts.

Why did i become a mom?

I ask myself this question when the boys have driven me to the brink of exhaustion, when i am not to sure how much more of "mom....mom.....MOMMA" "ouch, stop hitting me" "MOM Rohan's spitting" "No you STOP" I can take. They always make me smile. I never knew if i would be a mom, not that i didn't want to be, truth be told, i didn't really know HOW to be a mom. It wasn't until i had Aragorn and REALLY until i had Rohan that i understood. No one knows HOW to be a mom. There is no test you can take, no book you can read, and no one you can talk to that will prepare you for your first projectile vomit experience, or your first up all night, literally no sleep with a sick child experience. But there is also nothing that can prepare you for your first "i Love you" or your first "That's my kid" moment. Now that i am a mom, i can appreciate my mom a whole lot more. I understand now she didn't know what she was doing either, but she did it DAMN well!! I am glad that she is her for my boys, to experience all the fun, all over again. I think she's getting off easy though, she was of no help on that projectile vomiting incident......I'm just saying!!

So i guess when i ask myself "why did i become a mom? I can say this is why!!

Mother's Day

Mother's day came a couple days early for me. The boys thought it would be cool for me to use it this weekend. I got a new coffee maker, and 2 new coffee cups. The purple one is from Rohan, who told Eric it was a king, and that's what he wanted. Aragorn picked the pink one cause it has a heart on it. I LOVE that i got new coffee cups for mother's day, can never go wrong.

Rohan's Check up

We did Rohan's 2 year check up yesterday, and he is getting to be a big boy. 30 lbs and 3 feet. It's always fun when we get Dr. Jacobs because she is always so happy to see them and how they are developing. Rohan is doing well in all the areas of development he recognized all of the animals, and named all their sounds, even gave her a few she wasn't expecting. She said as long as everything goes well, and he doesn't get sick, we'll see her again when he's 3. He had to get 1 shot, so i made up for it by taking the long way home so they could nap a little in the car and going to Wendy's for chicken nuggets and chocolate frosty's. I didn't take a picture of him yesterday, but i did get one of him Thursday with his buddy Dillon.
