NYC.....

Thursday we landed at 6:30 am, met my cousin Jane at the German house, we had a little breakfast and then Bria and I laid down for a nap. Becky got in at around 12, we went for a walk to Times Square, it was AMAZING, all the billboards and craziness, you can PAY to sit a watch the ads!! We went to the hard rock cafĂ©, and then back to Jane’s for diner, she made a great rice and chicken dish. Friday we went to Tom’s Restaurant, which for you non-Seinfeld fans means nothing, but for those of us that have seen and love the show, this was a GREAT experience. The REAL tom’s is nothing like what they show on the TV show, the inside is shot in Hollywood, which I knew, but didn’t expect it to be so small, it was a cozy little place inside, we had a great breakfast and got some pictures of ME in front of the Tom’s Sign, after that we went to the museum, we had woken up to rain, and by the time we finished breakfast it was pouring again, so we headed to the museum, as it was the only indoor activity we had. We saw all the cool kids from the Ben Stiller movie “Night at the Museum” Rexxy, Dumb Dumb, the whale. After that we caught a cab and walked 5th Ave we saw all the cool shops, Tiffany’s, Prada, Cartier, and it was every bit as cool as it is in the movies..We stopped in Trump tower, and then decided to get some real NYC pizza, which was AWESOME. Friday night Becky treated us to a birthday dinner for mom to a place called Patsy’s which is pretty famous, lots of famous people go there, Sinatra used to go a lot, it was GREAT the food was excellent, I had the best fettuccini alfredo I have ever had, the Chief (which is the guy over the waiters) was very nice, he saw I wanted a piece of chocolate cake they had, but I didn’t order it, so he cut a slice down for me (that was my issue it was way to big) and gave it to me
Saturday morning we went on a 3 hour tour around the island. We saw all the important stuff, without having to actually go to it which was nice. Then we met Jane and her friend in little Italy (which these days is only 1 street) but it was still very cool. We then went to Chinatown, which was CRAZY SO many people, packed into these little streets, along with all the stuff they are selling (which on 1 street included L I V E flopping fish and a trash can FULL of frogs) we then tried to go to an authentic Chinese place, but it was like being shoved into a phone booth, so we went back to little Italy where I had the WORST fettuccini alfredo I have ever had. But I should mention by this point I was really feeling the cold Rohan gave me before I left. I was running a fever and coughing so bad I have a kink in my neck from it. Not a very good night. So instead of going out for 1 more night like we planned, we stayed at Jane’s and had some drinks and just talked. Sunday Becky left at 8am, so mom Bria Jane and I took a walk to central park, we took a horse and cab ride through the park, which was again a nice way to see it without all the walking. And then we had lunch, and I had to go home. I was so sick by Sunday I slept from 2-5, not the best ways to spent my last few hours in NYC. Bria, Mom and Jane went to Grand Central Station and I guess it was very cool  Our flight home was a nightmare to say the least. When we boarded our flight to come home, there was something wrong with the captains oxygen mask, so they kept us on the plane for 2 hours, to only transfer us to a different plane, we got home at 4 am. I stayed up cause the boys get up at 6:30ish usually, no point in going to sleep for 2 hours. But I managed and I am SO happy to be home. Vacations are nice, but there truly is NO place like home. The NOISE in that city is amazing, constant horns honking, I was so happy to come home and hear silence, I also missed my mountains it was so weird to see nothing but buildings while we were there.

Do the insane amount of photos i took in NYC.....Please check out this page to see them all. You don't have to have a facebook page to see them, just copy and paste the link, i used a facebook page because it was easier than loading all the photos onto here.
