Dear Family and friends,
I am SO sorry I haven’t kept up on the blog. I feel bad
because I know for some of you it’s the only link you have to keep up with us.
And see pictures of us and the kids. I am still trying to juggle work and
the house and the kids and find time to do stuff, and get all my stuff
done. Unfortunately blogging has taken a backseat to all of that. I
have even tried to just post pictures, and that doesn’t happen either.
Lots has been going on here though.
We celebrated breast cancer awareness by dressing in pink every Monday for the month of Oct.
Aragorn has advanced to his next belt in karate
Also, in September he won a H.O.W.L award at school. We were SO proud of him.
Rohan has also advanced AND was also promoted to the black belt
class with Aragorn instead of just the regular karate class. The black
belt class uses weapons, and there is more hand to hand contact (which makes
this momma VERY nervous, but I guess) they both seem to REALLY be enjoying it.
I celebrated my 34th bday on the 27th of
oct, and like in most years past it was pretty low key. Family came over
in the morning to help me celebrate and shower me with gifts (yes I am beyond
spoiled)
The boys are both enjoying school. Rohan is getting better
and better every day, Aragorn is mastering Math and getting a handle on his
spelling words (spelling, writing, and reading are not his favs) most days we
get thought everything with little to no complaining.
Rohan is a little budding artist, he will draw at any given
moment, he asks for markers and pens and crayons and paper and he’s
happy. He’s also really into cutting right now, which although great,
makes my house look like we have a constant party going on (which when you
think about it, isn’t all that bad I guess)
On Oct 13th Eric and I got to go to the wedding of a very dear friend and his fiancé got married after being together for over 6 years. We had a blast!! The Monsalve's have always know how to party.
Halloween came and went this year. We had multiple
activities, trunk or treat at Aragorns school, then at Ro’s school, then
another one at Karate and then the real thing. This year again we went to
Grandad and Grandma Spillman’s where she had the coolest set up for the
boys. Halloween plates and cups she had made herself, and hot dogs mac n
cheese and chips for dinner. We took the boys around the block and they
made out like bandits!! So much so I had to bring some into work
Speaking of which, I am there 3 months as of the 7th, and I
still love it. Now that i’ve all gotten a groove for how things go in the
office, and they’ve gotten used to me, I think we all seem to be doing really
good.
As you know politics has been choking all of us, and I am sure
if you are like me you are happy the election is finally over. I voted for
the 1st time ever this year, and it felt nice to have my voice
heard, and counted. The boys also gave us who they would vote for
Aragorn: I want Obama to win,
cause he likes to play basketball, and so do I
Rohan: I want Romney to win,
because he likes to ride horse. I like horses.
It’s times like this, being involved and knowing why you stand
for something is important at 4 & 6 this is what’s important to them.
I was so happy they were able to defend the reason for their vote with logic
that makes sense to them.
So I think that’s about it here. I will try and keep up a
little better.
Hope you are all well!!
Love,
All of us!
