Last Friday the 11th we decided to have Aragorn's birthday party with his friends. Now, i have never had a party with this many kids, with just me and Eric (Bria was here too, so that did help) but it was CHAOS!! I thought we'd have some game time and some presents and cake and dinner and they would play with Lego's and watch a movie. That is so NOT what happened. No, in fact what happened was the exact opposite of that. They didn't eat anything (cake included) they didn't play Lego's or watch the movie, they ran around and yelled and squealed and never for 1 minute settled down. We did get a couple of games in, "guess how many Lego's" and "Lego Toss" the winner took home some extra Lego stickers. After that they continued on with the craziness. The boys had a blast though and generally they were, well, 6 year old boys. We really only had 1 issue, and that was easily resolved. I learned a few things though. Next year i will pick a date during the day, when it's expected to be warm that way if they get to rowdy i can toss them all outside. I also learned that if you put food out, 6 yr old's will eat it. They do not understand it's there for show, until we're actually ready to eat. Nope, they dive right in. Lesson learned. I also learned that the Lego theme was harder than i thought it would be. I spent about a month researching ideas, and games and decorations, Aragorn really seemed to be happy with it. We had a great time getting to know some of Aragorn's friends. I really didn't get any good pictures of Aragorn, he was so busy playing, i did manage to get him with all of his friends, but that was about it. I am hoping to get some good ones this weekend at the Grandparents breakfast (how awesome are we letting the grandparents out of the kid craziness)
I am even hoping for decent weather, and maybe getting a few shots of all the guys, but we'll see. Anyway, here are the pictures from Aragorn's party.

| Eric made the silverware & napkin holder. The picture is one i took of Aragorn and Legofied using an app on my Iphone. |

| Chocolate Lego men. This is actually an Ice Cube silicon mold i bought at the Lego store, i used it to make ice cube men, and then melted chocolate and froze it out popped perfect chocolate Lego men. In hindsight perhaps giving pure chocolate to 6 yr olds at 7pm, wasn't my brightest idea. Lesson learned. |
