Cha-cha-cha-Changes......

I GOT A JOB!!  I start working for a friend of ours dong some office work on Tuesday.  As excited as we are fr this, it certainly added some new things to the house.  Mainly Rohan would go into preschool/daycare.  We were lucky though and found a good one.  Aragorn started 1st grade on Tuesday and Ro Started Wednesday.  It has been very strange to not have them at home while i am home, so have taken the last couple of days to myself.  Although, i am sad to leave the SAHM roll, I look forward to this opportunity, and getting back out into the working world.

Celtic Festival

A couple weeks ago we took the boys to a Celtic festival that the city of Elizabeth. It was pretty neat, almost a mini-Renaissance festival. Less people, MUCH less money, and just as fun. The boys got to try all the games because they were $1 each. They also made some pretty cool key chains out of glass that we should be getting very soon. They learned a little bit about some Scottish history a lot of Clans had booths set up and would stamp a "passport" the boys got, each clan had their own cool stamp, i think Eric and I had as much fun collecting them as the boys did. Except for the pretty nasty spill from the monkey bars, we had a pretty awesome time.

Family Vacation 2012

Ever since we saw Aunt Becky & Uncle Strut this summer for camping, the boys have wanted to go camping.  So for our annual Spillman family vacation, we took the boys to Jelly stone in Larkspur.  We went up on Friday morning, and camped until Sunday morning.  And I have to admit we had a BLAST!!  This place was so great for kids.  They had a lot of activity’s and things going on and they kept us busy.  Rohan fell in love with yogi, and we had a lot of fun in the pool.  The boys got to make snow globes, and they got to play on the cool slip and slide, feed goats (including aordable baby goats) they got to pan for gold.  Because of the fire ban in Colorado, which hit right in the middle of our vacation, there were no open fires, so we had to rely on the camp stove (which I gotta admit, not having the smell of campfire on EVERYTHING, was actually kinda nice) I missed the open fire and all that goes with it, but not the smell.  So they boys made smores on the camp stove, not as awesome, but still just as tasty.  We had no issues with sleeping in the tent, the boys thought it was very cool, and because we didn’t go into the mountains, it was warm even at night. We played and walked and swam so much, that by bed time the boys passed out, and mom and dad weren’t far behind.  All in all this was great idea, we all had a GREAT time, and the boys even want to go back next year.  Copy and paste the link below to see more pictures of our adeventures!

Zoo Trip

Last Monday the boys and I joined our neighbor Mandi and her 2 kids for a trip to the Zoo. We usually go once a year. I am not big on Zoos, simply because I am not a fan of locking an animal up for pure amusement. And it seems I need a trip once a year to remind me. The boys also, are not total fans. Thy really do prefer the museum. But, going once or twice a summer, is good for all of us, it's outside and A LOT of walking. The Zoo has moved the elephants, for those that remember, they are no longer the main attraction when you walk in. They are the MAIN attraction in the back of the zoo. They have built an HUGE new exhibit area for the elephants and rhinos. A very pretty Asian theme now encases them. I thought it was super pretty, but was bummed we didn't see the elephants. Actually this zoo trip was kind of disappointing as a whole when it came to the animals, they weren't outside, it was just too hot. We did get to visit both of the boys favorite animals Ro-Giraffe and
A-crocodile. But we had to call it soon after that as our littlest Zoo goer was getting cranky. It was fine with all of us though, the temps had reached 93 by the time we left!!

The boys had their frineds sleep over last weekend.  It was a first for all of us, and i am happy to report that we all made it through unscathed.  The boys had a good time with eachother, and my houses survived :-)

Praying.......

I ask that everyone pray to the GOD that you believe in, pray for a break in the Colorado fires.  We need rain, we need containment, we need to keep the firefighters safe.  All day, please just send a message up to end all of this.  Our beautiful state is being destroyed.
