Last day of K.....
Yesterday was A''s last day of Kindergarten (i know it went by FAST) and we celebrated by going to the park with his class having lunch and playing. It was SO hot yesterday but the kids didn't seem to notice or care. We then went back to the school and the kids sang us some songs they had been working on. I was doing fine until they did this, then i did start to cry a little. It's so weird to have a child that is on the 1st grade, and getting to be bigger and bigger, and not need me as much. Mrs. Douglas presented each kid with a diploma, and let them know how many books they had read (A had 70, the highest we heard was 80) so he did really well. He also got a cute picture from Mrs. Douglas of her and him, and a coupon for ice cream. We also got his report card which was great, he is where he needs to be academically. It seems when it comes to participating in class, or answering questions, he takes after mom and dad. In school i was not vocal at all, always afraid that even though i KNEW the right answer, i would get teased or picked on, so i just kept my mouth shut. Eric is just a shy person anyway. So it appears A has inherited these two traits from us. It's OK though, we'll work with him, and get him confident. I can not beleive in 6 short weeks he will be gone from me full time 5 days a week. I'm going to enjoy this summer vacation.

Interested.....
We are trying to get A interested in something physical. We know he loves the computer, and to play inside, but we figure it's time for him to get into SOMETHING. For me, it was dance and soccer, mostly dance though. Eric did soccer, and basketball. The problem is, he's not showing interest in anything. But last week he started pretending to use a bow and arrow, he would make a bow with his hands and then pretend to pull an arrow from it's quiver on his back. So we thought we'd try archery lessons. Eric has used a bow and arrow before, and he remembered liking it. I on the other hand have shot a few times, and each time ended with a black and blue forearm, so i declined. Eric and A took a lesson last Saturday though, and had a BLAST. A loved it, and i thought Eric was never going to leave the archery range. So they are going to go back on the 30th, and see if it's still as awesome.
Field day.....
A's field day was on the 8th, but i was waiting on some pictures from a friend, because as we got there, my camera died. I got some with my camera phone and Eric's, but hers were on a real camera. This wasn't field day like i remember, or maybe it's just cause it's Kindergarten, but the kids had a lot of FUN. The ran around and did obstacle courses, and egg and 3 legged races chicken toss. They had to crab walk to kick a soccer ball (which was hilarious!) they just had a good time. It was a nice break from learning, and a great chance to get outdoors. No one got any ribbons, for 1st or 2nd place, they all got a participation ribbon, which i think for Kindergarten, is just right.
