Easter Sunday......

We got up super early on Sunday to attend the early service at The Edge church, we wanted to be home early to get food started for the houseful of family and friends we were expecting.  This is the first Easter in 3 years that both Eric and I didn't have to work at church, so we were pretty excited.  The Easter bunny visited while we were at church leaving the kids baskets filled with goodies.  He also left a couple at our house for our neighbors Samie & William.  Everyone came over at 12 and the party was on. Eric spoiled us yet again with awesome food.  Ham, and mashed potatoes, corn and bread and cupcakes and soda and everything you could think of was there.  We ate until we were full, and then most of us ate some more. We had a great time soaking up the WONDERFUL weather we were blessed with.  I was afraid that it would be as it has been the last couple of years, but we got 70, easy.  Which for my mother, is perfect weather for a water fight (actually any weather for her is perfect) she started with the boys and water guns, then Eric dumped a glass of water on mom, and that was the end of the war.  Until me.  Bria filled a bucket for me, and i was so sneaky i got Eric just as he was coming inside, and i when i say i got him, i got him, literally everywhere, he had to change, which in retrospect was kind of a win for him, as i am the one that does all the laundry.  After the water fight and some convincing from my mom, our neighbor Stuart gave us another juggling show, and then let everyone play with his juggling stuff, even mom got in on the lessons.  It's amazing how something that looks so easy, is in fact extremely difficult.  I really do admire Stuart for the skill, it's something he's worked at hard, and perfected over the years.  I also found out Sunday, he can ride unicycles!  Awesome!!  It was so nice, to sit in the sun, enjoy some drinks and the company of great friends, both old and new.  It was a wonderful day to thank God and Jesus for all that he has given us, and be grateful for all he continues to provide.

Coloring Eggs.....

This year our church decided not to do an eggs hunt, but instead do a smaller quieter activity with the kids, in their classrooms.  This project required egg cartons.  So they asked all of us, if we could bring some in.  So i bought about 4 cartons of eggs and donated all the cartons of eggs.  The only problem is, we don't eat that many eggs here at the Spillman home (i know terrible) So after donating all of the cartons, i now had 48 eggs, and knew i wasn't going to get them eaten.  So i thought, why not let the kids dye them, and then I'll just make deviled eggs for Easter.  The boys and i invited our neighbors Samie and William and Friday morning we all sat and decorated eggs.  Ro chose super heroes, A chose aliens, Samie had stickers & William had monster kits for his eggs (we lost his attention about 15 minutes into this) They all had a good time.  And it was a nice craft for them to do, surprisingly it went really well, we had very little mess, and everyone got along well.

Lower North Fork Fire

There is an uncontrolled wildfire burning right now in Jefferson county.  Smoke has engulfed our neighborhood, and it smells wonderfully erie.  The sun was covered in smoke right before sunset giving it a warm red feeling.  I pray everyone in the fire's path are safe.

Sorry guys we've had just your basic things going on.  We've had super awesome weather the last 2 weeks.  Ro and I visit the park after we drop A off at school, pretty much every day.  For a couple days, last week i took both boys before school to the park to play.  Eric has been working so much, we are happy to spend all the time we can with him.  We had parent teacher conferences with A's teacher about a week ago, and it went, really good.  They have a grading scale of 1-3, 3 being the best, and he had a 3-.  There are some areas we need to work with him on, and i don't disagree with her on anything.  So, we'll work hard and hopefully by the end of the year, we'll be at a solid 3 :-)  Like i said Ro and i have been spending a lot of time at the parks, and just outside.  His little elbows & knees show the proof.  For a while, he was sporting dual spider man band aids on each elbow.  I attended a coupon class a couple of weeks ago that was pretty cool, check out her info at http://www.bargainblessings.com/.  I was able to see one of my girlfriends i only see every few months and have some lunch.  So all in all we've been just hanging out.  Going to church, enjoying our home group.  I was able on Friday to take the day and spend some time with my mom and Bria enjoying the Hunger Games movie and some breakfast.  So, here are several random pictures of our adventures of late.....
