Sometimes...

You have to forget that it will take you 3 hours to clean them and their clothes up.  I let the boys play in the mud last Thursday because we were having such awesome weather.  The boys loved it, and were surprised i was so easy going about letting them get so dirty (this is NOT like me) but i thought, hey kids should get dirty now and then right?

Bowling.....

I took the boys bowling the other day to kind of break up the monotony of the week.  The boys love to bowl, or at least have the last couple of times we've taken them.  And surprisingly they are pretty good at it, Rohan got a strike and Aragorn picked up a ton of spares.  We weree able to get 2 games in before hunger kicked in and we left for lunch.  But we all had a good time, mybe we'll get 3 in next time.

Happy New Rohan's Birthday......

Ah January 1st.  To so many it means a restart on last year’s failure’s, possible new love, weight loss in sight, goal will be reached.  To us here at the Spillman home, it means our youngest turns 4.  Rohan had a great day on Sunday a new year welcomed him with a sunny morning, Omi B came over with presents and we had a fun morning playing and just hanging out.  We had a mini celebration McDonald's for lunch, the Bronco's Vrs. Chiefs game and some presents from mom and dad.  For dinner we had Rohan’s favorite and tron cupcakes (it was the best Wal-Mart had) as per his MO, Rohan licked all the frosting off of his, and ate none of the cake. But not before he had his birthday wish.  We had a really good day.  We’ll have a party for him in February, which we’ll invite our friends Henry & Bradon & Dylon to.  But this little mini party with all of us has become sort of a tradition.  He said at the end of the day that he had a good day.  I had to post the picture of his hand, he wanted me to take the picture, but i thought my caption fit the day better.

It's a feeling.......

A heartbeat......

Christmas.....

Today we celebrated Christmas with family.  Grandpa and Grandma Spillman, Omi B, Martin and Aunt Bria were all here to celebrate with us.  Eric made breakfast burritos again with his homemade salsa and pork green chili.  Once everyone was settled in we started opening gifts.  The boys made out like bandits.  And according to my mom. So did I (ok yeah it’s true)  After gifts we ate and played a couple games of marbles.  It was a really good day with Bria being able to stay longer than she thought she would and Craig and Belinda joining us for a longer while too.  Everyone left about 2:30 and the boys enjoyed playing with Christmas stuff for the rest of the afternoon.

I didn’t get any pictures of the gifts Omi B got the boys, 3 games each for their new leap pads, they were already playing with them while we played marbles.  Auntie Bri also got Aragorn a game card for his leap pad.  Martin also got them bubbles, which is ALWAYS welcome. My mom also gave me 2 beautiful tops i can't wait to wear, and also some cold hard cash, cause who doesn't love that right?

We ended the evening watching one of the boy’s new imaginex movies, and enjoying some birthday cake.

Christmas Eve.....

We went to Christmas Eve service at the edge again this year. We haven't been to church in a while do to Eric's work schedule, and our need for some time off. We had gone back last week just to get the boys introduced to everyone again, and since the church has moved since we were there last, any new rules they would need to know. Last week Ryan did a sermon about King Harrod. For Christmas Eve's service, he chose to do a part II to last week's service and again spoke about King Herrod. Apparently king Herrod was a pretty evil man. Ryan said it was said "it was better to be one of his pigs than his son" because if he felt you were a threat to him, he had you killed. And so on and so forth. It seemed like an odd choice to me to do a 2 part sermon titled "The Dark side of Christmas" on Christmas eve, especially since all children ages 5 and up were in with the adults. This is only the second or third time Aragorn had been in the sermon with us, and i was a little disappointed on the subject. That aside, the service was great with Gena and the band rocking the house. To close the evening, we did a candle light service when they sang "O Holy night"

When we came home Brianna was already here and had dinner ready (let me tell you how AWESOME that was!!) we hung out for a little while and played with the cool gift the boys got from our neighbor friends. After we put out some gingerbread doughnuts and milk for Santa we went outside and tossed our Santa mix oats for the reindeer and confetti so santa can see the driveway. After that the boys went to bed and we enjoyed a quet evening.....
