Officially 6.....
Ok ok, so it was official on the 17th, but we have official numbers now. Aragorn had his 6 yr check up on the 22nd. He passed both his hearing and vision tests, and Dr. Erin said it looks like he's doing good. She had nothing to add, except maybe try to eat some vegetables. He weighed in at 68.2 and is 47.5 inches. Getting taller everyday! We snapped this picture because we thought grandpa would like it. :-)
Turkey Trot....
On Tuesday Aragorn had a turkey trot at school. The kids all 400 of them, ran around a track in the grass. We asked for donations from a few freinds and family, you could either donate a flat amount, of donate per lap. All of the money earned by the kids goes right back to the school, which will then be used to buy things they need such as computers, PE equipment, things like that, in return the kids get goodies based on the amount they raise. Aragorn ran 9 laps, which was pretty good, this track was HUGE, especially for the little ones. So we were pretty proud of him. They had a pretty good set up, music playing and the asst. principal dressed as a huge turkey. Aragorn seemed to have a pretty good time.
Thanksgiving.....
Hope everyone had a GREAT Thanksgiving. Here at the Spillman home it was delicious as usual. Eric cooked, just about everything (I did the mashed potatoes) we went overboard as usual. Turkey, Ham, Mashed potatoes, Sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, 2 kinds of stuffing, cranberry/apple sauce & corn PLUS 2 pumpkin pies. Needless to say we had a few leftovers, which is nice because for a couple days afterwards there is no cooking. Omi B, Martin & Bria all joined us again this year so we were able to get a couple of games of marbles in. It was a great. Not to much stress because Eric and I have a pretty good system for cooking and getting things together. This year though, i finally got smart, we all used paper goods instead of real plates (i have REAL china and whatnot, but because of the kids we've opted not to use it, maybe when they are 35, I'll think about it) so paper plates and cups and all of it, no one seemed to mind and it shaved about 1 hour off my clean up, which was nice. After bedtime and goodbyes, Bria, Eric and I watched a movie while we enjoyed desert and a drink. Perfect ending.
I didn't get as many pictures this year, i was to busy eating :-)
