Birthday Breakfast......

Yesterday we had our birthday breakfast with the grandparents, Martin auntie Bria.  They all came over yesterday morning and enjoyed homemade breakfast burritos (thanks Eric) and cupcakes that Grandma  S made (which were awesome, i ate them all day).   Aragorn made out like a bandit with all kinds of new Lego toys, he got at least 7 new kits and a TUB of Lego's from Omi B (over 600).

New Fridge

We did it, we finally had to give in and get a new fridge.  Ours has served us well, it's done it's job for a very long time, and in a way I'm sad to see it go, sorta.  But, i think my new fridge will be the perfect replacement.  We've already made it ours.

Mr Personality.....

For the last couple of days Rohan has wanted to take a picture while we wait for Aragorn to get out of school.  I love how his personality really shines through in his pictures.

Not the Lego's you used to know.......

These sure aren't any Lego's i've evr played with.

Just some shots of the cool Lego's Aragorn got for his birthday once they were assembled (thanks dad!)
This is Rohan the night after he hit his head, only a little swollen and no black eye.

The Day after.....

Aragorn hadn't been feeling well all day the day after his party.  He said his head heart, and when i went to take his temperature he said his ear hurt, he was running a fever, and was just in general yucky.  This happened late Saturday afternoon, and continued into Sunday afternoon.  By Monday morning he was feeling better again.

I told him next time not to party so hard

6 year old madness.........

Last Friday the 11th we decided to have Aragorn's birthday party with his friends. Now, i have never had a party with this many kids, with just me and Eric (Bria was here too, so that did help) but it was CHAOS!! I thought we'd have some game time and some presents and cake and dinner and they would play with Lego's and watch a movie. That is so NOT what happened. No, in fact what happened was the exact opposite of that. They didn't eat anything (cake included) they didn't play Lego's or watch the movie, they ran around and yelled and squealed and never for 1 minute settled down. We did get a couple of games in, "guess how many Lego's" and "Lego Toss" the winner took home some extra Lego stickers.  After that they continued on with the craziness.  The boys had a blast though and generally they were, well, 6 year old boys. We really only had 1 issue, and that was easily resolved. I learned a few things though. Next year i will pick a date during the day, when it's expected to be warm that way if they get to rowdy i can toss them all outside. I also learned that if you put food out, 6 yr old's will eat it. They do not understand it's there for show, until we're actually ready to eat. Nope, they dive right in. Lesson learned. I also learned that the Lego theme was harder than i thought it would be. I spent about a month researching ideas, and games and decorations, Aragorn really seemed to be happy with it. We had a great time getting to know some of Aragorn's friends.  I really didn't get any good pictures of Aragorn, he was so busy playing, i did manage to get him with all of his friends, but that was about it.  I am hoping to get some good ones this weekend at the Grandparents breakfast (how awesome are we letting the grandparents out of the kid craziness)
I am even hoping for decent weather, and maybe getting a few shots of all the guys, but we'll see.  Anyway, here are the pictures from Aragorn's party.

Eric made the silverware & napkin holder.  The picture is one i took of Aragorn and Legofied using an app on my Iphone.

Chocolate Lego men.  This is actually an Ice Cube silicon mold i bought at the Lego store, i used it to make ice cube men, and then melted chocolate and froze it out popped perfect chocolate Lego men.  In hindsight perhaps giving pure chocolate to 6 yr olds at 7pm, wasn't my brightest idea.  Lesson learned.

1st Major.....

Rohan was 1st.  The first of the boys to have an accident requiring a doctor's visit.  I was making lunch this afternoon and all is fine.  I hear Rohan Wailing from the living room and he runs into the kitchen holding his head.  Now, he's pretty dramatic anyway, but this was a genuine pain.  He pulled his hand away and there was blood.  The mom in me stepped right up and grabbed an ice pack, i pressed it against the cut and made him lay down.  The FREAKED out mom in me wanted to start crying with him.  Except for the occasional scrape, i have never seen my sons bleed, and i didn't like it at all.  After i got him settled i called Eric to see what his thoughts on what i should do were.  On one hand it looked pretty bad, it looked pretty deep and was bleeding pretty bad.  On the other hand, everyone knows head wounds tend to LOOK a lot worse than they are, cause of all the blood.  So Eric came home and we made the decision to take Rohan to the doctor, just to be safe.  Poor Aragorn was just kinda rushed about in the flurry that was our mid-afternoon.  But, he was a trooper too, making sure we would tell him how Rohan was as soon as he got out of school.  After dropping Aragorn off we took Rohan to our pediatricians office they got him right in, and cleaned him up, he didn't even wince.  The Doctor came in and Rohan told him what happened, that he was playing with his balloon and tripped into the TV table.  The dr sorta smiled a little (apparent this particular injury is VERY common) he said Ro wouldn't need stitches, and instead used a glue.  We were all very happy about that.  Rohan was GREAT he handled the whole thing like a trooper.  After enjoying a lunch of requested pizza with mom and dad, dad had to go back to the office so Ro and I hung out.  He rode his bike for a while, and we played at the park.  He got just a little spoiled, but i think he deserved it.  We're just glad he's ok.  The doctor said he will definitely have a black eye, and it will probably take about a week for the swelling to go down.  He's a pretty tough little cookie.
