Gluten Free....
So I made a pretty elaborate gluten free coconut chocolate cake
tonight. Let's run the list shall we?
Eric "It's OK, the texture is off, but otherwise ok"
Brianna "dude, I’m not eating that, what is it? Um,
no....what is that? Wait lemme try it
again, no....definitely no."
Aragorn gagged and spit it in the trash
Rohan Sniffed it, and said "um, i like the other
frosting" as he carried the plate to the trash.....
Guess I’ll be eating some cake

Apple Butter......
I have never really been a fan of Apple butter (it's a Midwest thing) Eric LOVES it, and Aragorn is a huge fan too. So when i found this recipe on my hunt for homemade Christmas gifts, i decided to try it. I have to say even i liked the way it came out. The recipe i used called for 2.5 lbs of pears, but i mis-read it, and didn't get pears. I got Apples though, lots of them Braeburn & golden delicious. I had 3 pears at the house already, so i just tossed those in too. I used 1 cup of brown sugar, and 1 cinnamon stick. I peeled a few of the apples, but for the most part left the skin on. I cut and quartered all of them, then stuck them in the crock pot for 4 hours. After that, i put the apples (minus the cinnamon stick) in the food processor and smoothed the mixture a bit. I put the mixture (with cinnamon stick) back into the crock pot for another 8 hours. I did this all in the later evening, so i could sleep while it cooked. the next morning, beautiful, warm, wonderful fresh apple butter. It was AMAZING!!

Silly Sock Day.....
Last week Aragorn was studying the letter S in class. As an extra something, his teacher asked all of them to wear Silly Socks Wednesday. I only wear white socks, and so do the boys. It's just always been something I've done. So silly, wasn't exactly something we had laying around. So i went and bought some puffy paint and we as a family went at our socks. Aragorn preferred the paintbrush method. Rohan was a fan of dots. I did some shapes. And Eric did the family and his love for me :-) we had a fun time and it was a fun family activity.
