Date night

Last Thursday Eric and i went on a date night to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. They were having a Summer Solstice Celebration, and I thought it was great opportunity for Eric and i to get some alone time, and geek out a little bit. The museum had a Mesoamerican Archaeologist explain why the Mayan culture loved the sun so much, and why they did sacrifices (human and animal). We then went to the terrace were we had an AMAZING view.We also had a couple of drinks (a tequila sunrise for me, along with Stonehenge)and looked through the telescope they had set up (by the time it was my turn, the clouds were covering the sun) so i didn't see anything, but we did get to see the sun through the sunspoter though, that was cool. They had tables set up where you could make your own sun catcher & Sun Dials. We got to enjoy the space area of the museum without a bunch of other people, Eric even got to play with the space ship docking station.

The Awesome.......

I has it.

Update on Mom......

1st i'd just like to take a moment and thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I do beleive they helped.

Mom's surgey took place this past Tuesday the 7th. She did in the end opt for a double mastectomy, for many reasons. So we started the day with an appt that we were told would take 15 mins, and ended up being 2 hours. Then after driving to a diffrent building, we sat in the OR prep room for about 2 hours, they told us the surgeon was running about 30 mins late, which also added to the stress. Mom was ready to leave (seriously she would have gotten up if she hadn’t been hooked to IV’s) The surgery went fine, there were no issues. She was in recovery only 30 mins before she was talking and laughing, which the nurse was very impressed with. She was rolled into her room about 8:15, and didn't sleep until well after midnight (which when you think about it makes sense, you just had a 4 hour nap, how do they expect you to sleep now?)
The doctors said they don’t expect any issues. They did look at her lymph nodes, and they say they are 95% sure there is no cancer, but just to be sure, they sent it to pathology. The doctor said her cancer is so small, that the likelihood of cancer in the nodes was very small, so she was optimistic about that. Mom was released Wednesday afternoon and came to stay with us. She did really well, only needing help with a couple of things. We saw the plastic surgeon Friday morning, and he did have a couple concerns, which we will address if they come up. Mom was home by Friday afternoon and is doing great. She sees the plastic surgeon again Monday. We continue to request prayers and good thoughts for the road ahead.
