Doing the Weight thing.......

I don't think I've mentioned that I am doing weight watchers. I started a couple weeks ago, and so far it's going pretty well. It's forced me to look at food a little differently. On Weight Watchers, your goal is to eat good, well rounded meals, with good potion control. Which, i admit, are not two of my best weight subjects. I like FOOD i like good tasting food, and i usually like a decent portion of it. But, i also like my old clothes, and would love to feel a little bit better health wise. Plus, I have discovered that if I eat better, obviously so does my family. Now, don't get me wrong, we still ate good foods (Aragorn will take a banana over sweets almost any day) but i do not deprive my children of any foods. I limit the intake, but there are not many foods my kids haven't tried, because i love FOOD. So i am using weight watchers as a tool to help me change my lifestyle of eating. That's one of the reasons i chose them was because they teach you lessons and tricks that you will be able to use forever, not a fad diet. So, i think every now and then, to help keep me motivated, i will share with you what i ate, and possibly show you a picture, and maybe a fact about weight loss. I was going to open another blog, but i think everyone i know that already reads this one, could benefit from a new recipe or tip.

So yesterday Bria and i made a TON of food it was good for you and we have leftovers for two days. Here's what we had in pictures.

My 1st Ryoal wedding......

Our invitation must have gotten lost in the mail :-) That's ok though. I didn't really want to buy a new dress, and go through the hassle of customs. So i enjoyed the wedding of Prince William The Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus and his beautiful bride Catherine Middlteon Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge from the comfort of my couch. I was to young to watch Prince Charles and Princess Diana get married, so i missed that massive to-do. But i did get up at 2:45 am and watch this wedding and i am glad i did. It was amazing. Kate was beautiful, William looked so handsome and then they both looked so nervous, and happy and in love. I was able to watch the entire wedding including the Kiss which took place on the balcony of Buckingham palace, just as Charles and Diana's had. I loved Kate's dress, i loved the decor that was used, it made Westminster Abby look a little cozier, more welcoming. I also like that Kate already has a place in the people's heart. I hope she can stand up to all that is ahead of her. I Really Like this article i found about thier relationship

Tithing the Spillman way.....

We dot not tithe money to our church. This is a mutual decision of Eric and I. Based on a couple different reasons, my aversion to giving money to an organization that i am not 100% sure where said money goes and Eric has grown up tithing by doing. His great-grandfather was a doer. He also did not tithe, but he was willing to make or do anything the church wanted. We have decided, that we will tithe by doing also. That said, the work that goes into the Edge church each week is overshadowed by the production that is put on. But please believe the Edge would be nothing without the people that do "set up" and "take down" each week. One of the things that gets transported every week is the stage. It was given to the Edge for use, and it had seen better days. It was gray and needed to be painted badly, each week it was getting covered by carpets and tape, and just generally didn't look pleasing. So as he's way of tithing Eric painted the stage pieces last week. We parked both cars in the driveway, and he went to town. He spent all last week after work, and after the boys went down painting and touching up the pieces. They turned out great and looked wonderful. I hope the church was as happy to recieve these pieces of stage, as he was to do them for the church. They turned out great!!
Last weekend while Auntie Bri was here, Aragorn took a ride on the big boy bike he got for his birthday in November. It was the 1st weekend day, that has all these factors

1. It was warm out

2. Dad was home and didn't have 10 million things to get done (i refused to teach Aragorn, i think this is a great DAD job, must like teaching a kid how to drive)

3. I was able to hold my composure long enough to let them try it. I was all to terrified at what could happen, with the falling, and getting hurt.

Aragorn did OK, and i say OK, because he never fell, but he never really got going either, he's having a hard time pushing the pedals, he'll get it eventually, and then well........See rule #3

ps-Remember when riding your bike meant MAYBE you put shoes on? It ook 2 adult people to get him ready to ride his bike.

Happy Easter!

Here is the ONE picture I got of all of us today at church. The boys got Easter baskets this morning. Some chocolate and a new toy and a new outfit for today. Rohan actually ended up wearing jeans, as it was WAY too cold for shorts. I don’t think we got to 30 degrees this morning. But it was fine, better than what it could have been in this state. The boys did the Easter dash the church put on, they each made out like bandits with buckets full of candy. With Eric having to work until 2 pm at church today, we opted to not do a huge lunch/dinner thing. Instead I made a pork chili in the Crockpot, which is fine, the cold weather has me wanting chili anyway. We met the Weinmaster family yesterday and did an Easter egg hunt at the local YMCA yesterday, the boys had a blast scooping eggs, but they had no interest in meeting the Easter bunny.
