Speak up & Be heard.......
I am a HUGE food network fan. I LOVE it, i will watch it even when i can't actually watch, i use it for background noise. I have learned a lot from different shows, by different chef's/cooks. On of my favorite chef's to watch was Ina Garten her show is called "The Barefoot Contessa". I never made anything off her show that i actually liked, BUT i liked her show, i liked how she seemed real, and yes, snotty, but she gave no excuse for it. She had worked her way up from the bottom, married young (and is still married) and i just liked her. That all changed last week when i came across this article. http://www.tmz.com/2011/03/24/ina-garten-barefoot-contessa-make-wish-child-cancer-leukemia-cooking-chef/ This article states that Ina Garten informed the make a wish foundation, that she was too busy to cook a meal with a boy that had requested to cook with her. He had asked her last year, and she turned him down. He accepted that, and asked again this year, but her team responded with a "definite no" ... once again, citing scheduling conflicts. This little boy had watched her with his mom while he received treatment for Leukemia. In my mind, this was UNACCEPTABLE. 1 time is to many, but twice back to back, is beyond comprehension. How could this women, someone that i had made special effort to watch, and loved be so cruel???? So i did what i do best, i took to posting. I posted to my Facebook page, and twitter, i sent her an e-mail, and i sent food network an e-mail basically telling them all, that she is a horrible person and should be boycotted. I didn't use foul language, or call her names, i simply stated a fact based on what has been communicated. I was AMAZED at the responses I have received. So far on every outlet i have posted i have gotten nothing but support and agreeing with me. Today i received 2 e-mails from complete strangers telling me that i am great for speaking out. And i just found out that the website POPEater posted my comment. You can check it out here. http://www.popeater.com/2011/03/31/ina-garten-make-a-wish/ Sometimes, when people do wrong, the pen is mightier than the sword. Ina, i hope you read everything that has been said. And i hope the next time someone asks you to do something, ANYTHING, you jump at the chance. Never forget that it's the "little people" that make what you do happen.

Glee ( Darren Criss ) Hey Soul Sister Preview
I love this video for what it brings back for me. If you watch the video at the 1:11 mark you'll see the girl in the audience tell her friend on stage to smile. This was always the biggest issue for me as a performer. Whether i was on stage performing, or modeling in front of the camera, my mom was constantly telling me to smile. It's not that i didn't want to smile.....I forgot how. You get so caught up in what your doing, trying to remember the next step, or the next line, you forget. When i saw this it made me miss being on stage. And having her in the audience. I hope the boys take on some sort of activity that requires them to be on stage, at least once, i want to be in the audience telling them to smile :-)

The big pull.........
Well i did it, i finally had 2 of my 4 wisdom teeth pulled on Friday, and let me tell you what, OUCH!!
They only did the 2 on my left side, i would have liked to have had all 4 done, but i guess they don't do that unless needed, so i had to settle for the 2. I was in a lot of pain Friday night, and into Saturday, but i followed the rules to a T (no smoking, no drinking through a straw, no solid foods) until, well, today actually. I wanted to avoid at ALL costs dry socket, because as i understand it, there is no worse pain. I did have some swelling in my face, but nothing major, in fact most people at church couldn't even tell until i said something. I am not looking forward to getting the other 2 pulled, but i know it has to happen. I do have to say though, this journey of getting my teeth all healthy again has been an eye opener for me. I will from now on take MUCH better care of my teeth, and i will make sure the boys (all of them) do too.
I did get a warm fuzzy though when the dentist told me she liked my smile, she said it was very pretty :-)

Little sister gets married.
My sister Dominique got married this weekend at the Denver Ritz-Carlton. Unfortunatly, do to the ongoing issues with the Dean family, we were unable to attend. But the wedding was covered by multiple news outlets, so even though we weren’t able to attend, I am still able to enjoy some pictures and see that she made an amazing and beautiful bride.

The wedding was made possible by the non-profit group Wish Upon a Wedding. It is the world’s first nonprofit wish granting organization providing weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances regardless of sexual orientation. I am glad they were able to give her the wedding she has always dreamed of. I love the colors, and all of the elements of this wedding, Nikki did a great job picking everything out.

Please check out the links below for information regarding Wish Upon a wedding, and some wonderful coverage of Nikki & Myles.

Enough to fill my heart.......
And break it at the same time. This picture makes me see Aragorn as the young lil man he is. And i can't wait to see him as he gets older. But at the same time, it shows me that even though he'll always be MY baby, he's not a baby anymore. (Can i also say i find it fascinating that his smile tilts to one side, just like mine)
