Fathers Day by the pool

Happy Fathers day all!!

It was a good weekend for us. Unfortunately the wedding Eric and I were supposed to attend was canceled due to a family emergency. Everyone is ok and they hope to reschedule, so instead we stayed home all weekend and just hung out. It was nice to have a calm day at home after our super busy weekends lately. Yesterday we watched movies and hung around, while Eric made ribs for diner, so yummy. And Brianna stayed and chilled with us. All the boys got haircuts yesterday, Eric did them. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Rohan’s hair, but after much thought, I think he looks adorable.

Today for father’s day, the boys let us sleep in till 8ish. They woke Eric very quietly with loud screams and bellows and then the chasing of each other in the hallway. Eric got a gift card to Panda Express and enjoyed a relatively quiet day. We all played in the pool this morning, Grandma Dean was here and the water war was on. Aragorn’s lips were blue before he would let us take him out (he gets that from his Grandma Dean). After the pool we had some lunch and stayed in from the sun. Later in the afternoon, our neighbors came by with her little girl, so back in the pool Aragorn went. I have a feelin we’ll have some worn out babies tonight. Eric made fish tonight that he covered in his homemade spice rub. I tell ya, if we could make a business out of rub and salsa, we’d be sitting pretty. We’ve been working on animal sounds with Roan, I posted a video of the best I could get right now.

Hope you are all well

A Camping we will go.......well, sorta

Last weekend we joined Becky and Strut, Barb and Bra for camping in Estes park. We went up for the day and ended up staying the night. Lots of fun to be had. We stayed in a cabin, and we had campfire food. We all got some sun, Sam the worst. But it was great to see everyone. Aragorn cause some ants, and was able to view them in his bug finder, apparently ants like pinecones, he ended up with more pinecone than ant. Rohan discovered he likes hotdogs cooked outside. We came home Sunday, and I was still putting clothes away by Wednesday, I love camping.

Summer is Just around the corner

The corn on the cob has been broken out!!

The wind began to switch / The house, to pitch

Unfortunately I had just a tad too much to drink at the bar mitzvah, and spent Sunday morning curled up on the couch. Thank goodness Brianna stayed and helped with the boys as I was useless. I did manage to get laundry done, but that was about it. We did have some fun happen at about 1pm though, as I watched the food network the weather service broke in and warned us about a tornado. Eric was outside getting the seats out of the van when I told him, he looked up and showed me the clouds as they were twisting around. It was of course nothing new to him, but I was freaked out. We ran in, grabbed Rohan from his nap (he was not amused) and headed to the basement. Aragorn was already there playing on his computer oblivious as to any happenings outside. I watched the news for a minute engrossed in what was happening, and then I realized Eric was not with me, Eric was OUTSIDE watching the tornado as it came down, after yelling at him to get inside, he showed me the funnel, I ran and got my camera and got a couple pretty good pictures. But I went back in. My husband is crazy!! It was a typical Colorado thing though, by 5 it was sunny and warm again. We are looking forward to this weekend and seeing Aunt Becky and Uncle Strut. And hanging out, unfortunately we will not be camping, but we’ll drive up for the day. Maybe next year when the boys are a little bigger we can join them for the weekend. Next weekend the 20th is my boss’s wedding, and then I think we finally get a weekend break from all the craziness.
~Hope you are all well

Bar Mitzvah

Well Eric and I had a very exciting weekend, we attended our first Bar Mitzvah. It was an interesting experience. I was bummed because they separated the women and men; I didn’t get to see half of why we were there, like Jake reading the Torah or anything like that. But it was cool. I did learn some interesting things about the Jewish religion, its 3,312 years old. The Torah is the same all over the world, and is hand written, every letter, it would take a person working full time 9-12 months to write it all down. The party was awesome though, picture a wedding reception without a bride and that’s what this was. DJ, dancing, professional photographer, and food. His theme was camping, so for appetizers they had trays of little hamburgers and French fries and fried mac & cheese. Diner was kabobs and coleslaw. Very yummy. We danced until we could not longer dance and left at about 11:30.
