July 4th 2013

July 4th this year was twicw the awesome it usually is.  On top of it being our 5th annual Spillman 4th of July party.  Eric's brother Jesse, his fiancĂ© Lorina and all the kids came out to visit over the long weekend.  We had an awesome time showing them a few Colorado sites, and celebrating the 4th with them.  Unfortunately do to the fires, we didn't have any shows we could see from the house, but we all still had a great time.

1st Baseball game 06-29-13

Eric and I took the kids to their 1st baseball game Rockies vrs The Giants.  Aragorn was particularly interested in going to see a real game.  It was also with the Karate class, so the boys got to see some of their instructors and friends at the game.  Aragorn wasn't as enchanted as he'd thought he'd be.  It really is kinda boring in person.  They lasted about 2 hours. But we still had a good time.

Rohan Graduation June 13th '13

I realize there is not a single pic of us as a family, but it was chaos there really was no time. Should have done them before we left. Oh well......I am happy with these, and so is Ro, all of his favorite people at one of his favorite places. Behind Chucky Cheese of course.

There were a lot of tears by me and all of the teachers.  But he's so cute in his cap and gown.

Comic Con.....

For a surprise I took Eric to the Denver Comic Con on June 1st.  It was Denver's 2nd con, and my 1st.  It was CRAZY!!  Almost any costume you can think of was there.  From Disney, to Dr. Who, to Star Trek.....You name it they probably had someone there dressed like them.  It took up most of the Colorado Convention building, and was just wall to wall people.  We waited 1 hour to get in, and we had pre-purchased tickets.  I heard the next day the had to turn away about 2,500 people do to no tickets.  Eric and I had a blast, we met up with our friend Chris who had weekend passes.  We just went for the day.  I could have done two days, but I didn't know how I would like it.  Next year I told Eric we need to get a hotel room and VIP tickets.

Wildlife Sanctuary.......

Granddad and Grandma took all of us to Wildlife Sanctuary in Keenesburg, CO.  And it was AWESOME!! All of the animals have been rescued from HORRIBLE lives.  I LOVE this place.

The Sanctuary was designed and built with a centralized compound located in the middle of the habitats. This portion of the facility is used as an initial receiving area for new rescues, and has specifically designed areas that allow animals to recuperate and adjust to their new surroundings. The rehabilitation process for rescued animals begins here with special playgrounds located within the compound area that help prepare animals for living in large acreage habitats.

Check out their webpage at
And them check them out in person.

He tells the best stories...

So Rohan the pirate says he rides a dinosaur because his pirate ship was attacked by zombies of varying kinds. So has to ride the Dino. Yes, that's a light saber.
He says skeletons also attacked his ship. He met the dinosaur Ningy, in the woods. Ningy can swim, which is helpful since he's a pirate.

He loves puzzles.....

And he's pretty good at them too!

So Rohan is picking out some tattoos and says:

"Imma put the octopus on" and without looking I agree.

Then I turn and he's holding up this gargantuan thing.

I had to have a 5 minute explanation of why he was not allowed to put that on his arm.

work for it.....

Aragorn's was a little thicker than Ro's.  He got it on the next kick after I filmed this (go figure).

Ro showing us how it's done.....

He got his board in the 1st kick!

There is no way.......

There is no way I could catch you all up for the last 2 months.  But i'll post some pictures.  We are all doing good and keeping busy.  Rohan had his 5th birthday party in Feb. at the karate dojo, and it was a BLAST!! He even got to cut his cake with a sword!! I am so glad the boys are still enjoying it enough to share it with their friends.

 Eric and his Mini me.

We celebrated Omi B's birthday on Feb 23rd, and she got all kinds of cool loot including an ipod shuffle, YUP, she's officially into 2013 ;-)  We had a nice German breakfast and cake.  Happy Birthday mom!!
At the beginning of the month for Dr. Seuss birthday week Ro had a day where he had to dress as his favorite book character, he chose to be the mouse from "If you give a mouse a cookie" and he was ADORABLE!! And from what I understand, a pretty original idea.

Auntie Bri did a science experiment with the boys by putting carnations into separate glasses with food coloring, we watched the flowers take on color as they drank they water, it was pretty cool.

I'm still getting used to my job, it's been 9 months already, but it's always changing.  As the office manager (I say that because I am really more than just the receptionist) I have to know a lot of stuff.  No day is ever the same, it's stressful and complicated.  At the same time, I LOVE it, I love all of that.  I love the responsibility of it all.  It's awesome.  I love that people trust me to get stuff done.  That they appreciate me.  It's just cool to actually like your job.  The fun thing about it too is, most of Eric's clients are with in a few miles of my office, so we try to have lunch at least once a week together.  I like this time we have to just be with each other and talk.  It gives us a chance to kinda
"date" again too. And in that, I get all kinds of pretty things at my office, which is fun.

Ro lost his 1st tooth on March 8th!! he lost it at school and I won't lie, I almost cried that I missed this huge moment, but I guess it happens.  He was excited to get money from the tooth fairy.
We got a pretty decent snowfall March 9th, so Ro was able to use his snowman kit he gor from Granddad and Grandma.
ARagorn finally let us cut his hair this past week, he was finally sick of the Beatles look.  He aged at least 2 years!! and lost 10 lbs.

Last night March 22nd the boys advanced in Karate last night to their next belts and they did GREAT!! We are so proud of them.

I got my 1st surprise shipment from my Valentines day gift from Eric, he got me a three month subscription to Lucid Jewelry in NYC.  I LOVE her stuff.  I will get something as a supirse for the next 2 months still.  WAHOO!!
